Who here thinks that NASCAR fights should be treated like a hockey fight. Once the drivers are out of their cars, should the officials let 'em go for a bit then break it up, or should fights be stopped before they start?

The guys are just letting off steam! The best one ever was between Bobby Allison and Cale Yarborough years ago.

Back in the olden days the fist fights were part of the redneck-moonshine image that NASCAR had in the 50's and 60's.

Now that everyone has matured, the fights are thought to be immature and are not wanted by the sponsers or the TV networks.

Most die hard nascar fans go to see the wrecks and the fights while consuming the better part of a case or two of beer.

I think they should be stopped before they start if at all possible. Fist fights in NASCAR usually, but not always, lead to tension on the track. This in turn, causes great damage to vehicles (usually innocent bystanders racing to win) and fines, as well as loss of points. It isn't good for PR or for fans to have to witness their favorite driver having a meltdown and possibly losing their chance for the championship.

I love NASCAR but it can compare to a soap opera at times. (perhaps that's why I like it so). I say let them fight.
