The Creative Zen line players are great players. My wife has the Zen Microphoto and I have the Creative Zen Vision M.
Both the Microphoto and the Zen Vision M won C|Net's best MP3 player at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2005 and 2006, respectively.
The Zen Vision M (30GB) is SUPERIOR to the iPod 30GB in terms of picture quality, battery life for video, price and number of sources for music, and overall cost of ownership (if you use it with a subscription music service such as Yahoo Music Unlimited To Go, Rhapsody To Go, or Napster To Go.).

People who think that iPods are the "best" and that "nothing touches them" really haven't done their research and really haven't tried anything else.

I have asked that question a lot too. The most answers I got was that the Creative Zen is better. They say the iPod scratches way too easily and it has even snapped in half. I haven't found anyone who has had any problems with the Creative.

There are many Creative Zen models, but all of them trump the iPod.
The new Creative Zen V Plus offers a wider range of features and longer battery life for a lower price than the iPod Nano. (The iRiver Clix is better than the Zen V Plus, though.)
The Creative Zen Vision: M is SUPERIOR to the iPod with Video. It has a wider range of features and a better screen, all for a lower price than the iPod with Video.
The Creative Zen Nano Plus is better than the Shuffle and has a lower price, too. (Well, anything's better than the Shuffle, really... No screen, after all...)
Those who think the iPod is superior clearly haven't tried other players.

Creative zen is better in far more ways than an ipod.
The price
removeable battery
buyable batteries
doesnt scratch as easy
durable
sounds better
funner to use
no itunes
you can use windows media

creative zen is great i hav a nano plus and i luv it u can use over 20 music stores and it comes in 10 colors not 2 like ipods and it's alot cheaper u can get 1 with 500 songs 4 just a little over $100

music qualityof ipod is better than creative zen. but i myself have a zen and i chose it because ipods are known to have quite a few complaints especially in the nano range and also the 1-2gb ipods lack functions of the zen like fm and voice and fm recorders.
