Although spamming is a worldwide menace, if you are using intranet based mail service other than the free public ones, you can have control to receive mails from select users. You can set filter rules on server for which you may need to speak to your local admin.

If you are not then you can set spam levels if thats offered by your mail provider.

then be careful who you give it out to and, whenever anyone NOT on that list sends you an email, delete it, don't open it and unsubscribe, because that does not work.
