I think it's harder to have children now. There is so much more to worry about than there was back in the day.

It's definitely easier. Kids these days are spoiled little brats. A century ago, kids would be working in the fields all day and they would know the value of a dollar. Today, kids expect their daddies and mommies to buy everything for them, and the hardest thing they do all day is some algebra in school, and some video game playing at home. Really! If the kids from a century ago came and saw the kids living today, they would be appalled at how little work they do.

I would say it is harder now to raise children in this society. We are bombarded with sex, violence, drugs and so many other immoral things, and the children are exposed to these things at such young ages. It seems that there are so many things to worry about. But, we do live more comfortable lives than those of our grandparents, and medical technology has eradicated many fatal diseases, so I think we are better off in that sense. Good question.

Harder because of all the "mommy and daddy" competition and pressure to make the kids the best. The $ of baby stuff.

Harder...no doubt about it. Makes me thankful for birth control. I don't know what I will do when I get married. My boyfriend is Catholic and I have already made the decision to convert.

Definitely easier. We've advanced a lot in technology....when I say technology, I mean like, medicine, too. And children these days have more opputunities and more things to do for fun.

Much easier now. One example is throw away diapers. If you think children are hard, try taking care of an old person.
