I can't open a disk with pictures on it. The last time I opened it was with windows 98 now I have windows xp.

I can't open a disk with pictures on it. The last time I opened it was with windows 98 now I have windows xp.

Its keeps saying the disk needs to be formatted but I know it already is. Do I need to do something different sence I have windows xp now?

If it were me, I'd find somebody that had a puter with 98 on it, and dl the pics to their puter then go online and send them to myself at my email addy, and then dl them on the xp machine.

Maybe it's your CD drive thats the problem because a disc does'nt need to be formated if it already has been recorded.Sounds like CD drive problems to me.Try cleaning the laser eye with a Qtip and alcohol
