I had witnessed this action in person,so laugh if you will but it worked! While trying to remove a groundhog from his burrow...My uncle lowered his leather belt into the burrow,buckle end fist,the groundhog locked onto the buckle and was pulled out . The only other thing I could suggest would be a humane cage type trap, you may be able to borrow one from animal control,Best of luck.
