The benefits are vast. Foremost you will gain and understanding of various cultures. Understanding is the only way to end the ignorance that leads to so much death and despair in this world.

Secondly you will be introduced to thing that perhaps you may not have tried on your own by way of culture, tradition cuisine. This will only enrich and broaden you horizons to be a little cliche.

Finally friends are just plain awesome. No matter what colour or culture, they are you support system. People to laugh and cry with.

The advantages are many...it helps you think 'outside' the box...it helps you get a better understanding of the world and understand others views...it teaches you and those around you that people are people not matter what their race, language, religion, etc.

Sadly though...most people have friends that are predominately of their own race/religion. I think in America, this has more to do with common interests than with hate or intolerance....I just have more in common with people I meet in church over people I meet in bars or so forth and I don't really have an opportunity to meet people of various races/religions that often.

Plenty! It would teach u to learn the other person's beliefs and make u tolerant. More people have died in the name of religion and race than from any illness, accidents, tusnami or any other such cause. If Hitler's best friends were Jews, would 6 million of them have died?

if you have friends from different races, languages, and religions.. then it's better because you get their view of the issue.. you see where im going? experiences with them will really open your eyes and unbind you from the narrow mindedness of your enclosed society.. it's really helpful if you want to know what real "other" people think about something..

There are many advantages, but I think that the one that deserves to be treasured most of all is the understanding of that person's life style, history, and just think of what you could learn from them.
