Carson asked the wife"What do you do to bring him luck?"
She replied" I kiss his balls"
He said "I bet that makes his putter flutter."

He had Zaa Zaa Gabore on his show. She had her cat with her.
She asked "Would you like to pet my pussy?"
He said" Sure, if you move the cat!!"

Carson asked what Palmer's wife did to give Arnold good luck before a round of golf. She said "I kiss his balls". Carson paused, then said, "I'll bet that makes his putter rise..."

The story goes the after asking the perhaps impertinent question, she said, "I kiss his balls..." Then Carson added with an equally off-color "wrap-up,"I'll bet THAT straightened his putter!"

No, it's a hoax. She never was a guest on the Tonight Show. But the story has become infamous even though it didn't happen.

Snopes covers this one.

"Wife of famous golfer blurts out on TV that she kisses her husband's [golf] balls for luck."
http://www.snopes.com/radiotv/tv/kissballs.asp

"Leno: ... apparently Johnny said, 'Is there anything your wife does to bring you good luck?'

Palmer: No, Johnny said, 'Does your wife kiss your [golf] balls before you go to play?' and I said, 'I don't even go to bed without pajamas.'"
