Why isn't Aim working?

When i open aim and sign in it begins to sign in, but then goes back to the username and password screen and says that the sign in failed.
someone help please.
and i know my username and password is right so don't tell me to check that

How long has it been doing this? Sometimes when I am using AIM, the server disconnects for a few minutes randomly. Maybe you happened to catch it when the server wasn't working.

That happened to me b4 but I never got to use my account. I had just made it. Maybe it's site difficulties. Or you have to update it?
