dude lol it doesnt sound gay or stupid. its one of the the most famous novels written by james fenimoore cooper, a classics writer. and so is the novel. if you like the setting and stuff, i recommend the deerslayer as well. its similar but of course with a different plot.

That is an old movie by now. It is based on a classic American novel that most people had to read in High School. I believe that the movie was filmed in Chimney Rock national park in N.C.
