considering Oprah (Winfrey) is such a big household name, would you vote for her if she ran for congress?

Yes, at least from watching her shows and reading her magazine, there is history to go by on what she really stands for and believes in, unlike some candidates that change their position depending upon which fundraiser dinner they are attending.

Don't see lasting more than one term in any office though; would have to take too big of a cut in pay from what she is making now.

Well, I sure would. She's very bright, a good business woman, and has a giving nature. She tells the truth as she sees it (if not always agreeing with my particular point of view), and doesn't shy away from a good scrap (like with the cattle industry a few years ago). If she would be willing to undergo the microscopic examination of every facet of her life that we demand of our candidates, then I would certainly vote for her. However, I doubt she would want to put herself through that kind of scrutiny. It's even worse than the tabloid crap she has to deal with now.
