Africans sold their family members into slavery for money, to get some relief from poverty; of course gangs kidnaped some and sold them into slavery. They pimped their women for money.
I think that same tendency exists in Black communities across the US except may be in the well to do financially independent Black families. I have seen and experienced personally whores running on the streets and men behind running the drug rings and prostitution rings and street gangs. But in the past 10 years, things have gotten better because of better welfare and job programs as well as new streets and clean housing. But I think that the same tendency is still in action, only nowadays it happens behind the doors and hardly whores are seen on the street.
