If you're looking for an honest politician, you will probably never find one that is truly honest about everything. All politicians, no matter what party or country have their own agendas. Which is why they go into politics in the first place. Although GMA is not perfect, she is probably the best choice out of alot of poorer choices out there. I believe that no matter who is in power, there wil lalways be one group or another who will not be satisfied with that person. No one can be the end all, be all for everyone. We had Marcos, he did a pretty good job at first,but as the years went on and his wife got greedier, he got worse. We got Cory next. She didn't do too bad and most people liked her, but I don't think she's cut out to be a true laeader. Now she spends most of her time trying to get into the spotlight so that people won't forget about her. Ramos came after, he was a pretty good president too, but he had his share of problems. It seemed like every militant group wanted to get rid of him. Erap was probably the worst of the bunch. I don't think I need to list his screw ups. Fernando Poe would not have made a very good president, in my opinion because he did not know much about politics and he would have relied more on his celibrity status to become popular rather than do what is best for the country. Sometimes it's not just the president, but also the advisors, senators, congress, and other government officials who need to think about what's best for the country and it's people, rather than lining their own pockets or following their own agendas. The Philippines needs a responsible honest government, not just a president.

I was in the Phils earlier this year and totally agree. Like the US, that govt is as corrupt as ours.
Remember the coup attempts and the state of emergency this year? I was there.
