Since you are from India, i would expect that UK would be the best for you culturally speaking. Especially since you are in law, the English system shouldn't to far a stretch from what you know. There is also a strong Indian community in UK which will make it easier for you to settle down there.

Canada would be second i believe. It is a very good country, and has been voted as one of the best countries to live in by the UN for around 7 straight years. Better yet they are keen on getting skilled immigrants since they have a large country with very few people. Plus their public health care is probably the best, and free.

Australia would be third. They are progressive, also aggressively seeking immigrant because of the same reasons as Canada. the weather is definitely superior to Canada. But i place them after Canada for a very basic reason. They are not as economically connected to the world economy as Canada (if only because Canada is right above the US). Plus i heard that the discrimination in Australia is still pretty prevalent, unlike Canada which is very accepting and easygoing (i got this info from my friend who works in the dept of foreign affairs in my country).

New Zealand is fourth because their economy is quite limited. At the end of the day, a country needs a large economy in order for it to do well in all fronts. A country like new zealand doesn't have a very diversified economy and will be very vulnerable to the wild swings that the world economy will go thru as it adjusts to globalization.

Lastly Ireland, which is dont think is very keen on immigrants.

Good luck

PS - My wife and I are migrating to Canada. ETA 2008

Legal courses along with Insurance are wanted in the UK as they have laws similar with Indian laws(britishlaw). You can look at the insurance sector for your job and not legal sector as you have to pass their law exams.

This is a difficult country to get into unless you have a specialized skill or you can prove that you can support your self financially for ever. If you intend to work you need to apply for a green card (which is incidentally pink, or it was a few years ago) and permanent residence. I do not know which country you are coming from, but America is not all "sunshine and roses".
