Don't get me wrong, the movie wasn't bad and I enjoyed my time at the cinema but II was expecting so much more, Captain Jack Sparrow only got a few laughs this time round and I felt that the first half of movie was directionless, too many searches were going on and the thread of the plot just seemed to get jumbled up somewhere along the way.

I thought it was great! Very action packed and amusing. I really got into it. I was expecting Jack Sparrow To be a little more funny but oh well! I really enjoyed it and I can't wait for the next one. lol

I saw it yesterday. I thought it was pretty good, being a "Second of Three" (which is a real tough act). They had to maintain the mythos of the first (which was supposed to be a stand-alone single-shot movie) and set the stage for the third (which was shot at the same time as the second). As I said, second films in trilogies are really hard to make good.
That said, Dead Man's Chest was pretty good, all in all, though I found Davy Jones' Flying Dutchman to be depressing ... all lit with blue light and covered with disgusting, oozing sealife and crewed by dead sailors being devoured by disgusting, oozing sealife. Tough watching all that.
The action scenes were good. The plot was plausible (for a supernatural pirate film!). And the main characters were allowed to expand a bit.
I will say I did not care for Elizabeth as the fighting female. Keira Knightly has a limp wrist and a general physical clumsiness that does not translate into "fencing master" very well. Plus, I agree with Jack Sparrow, she should wear dresses or nothing at all, and I happen to have nothing at all in my cabin.
But now I have to wait a bloody year for my favorite character (Captain Barbosa, yay!) to save the day. Pass me an apple.

i thought it was awesome, funnier,more exciting,and and more on the edge than the first one. i don't think it was better or worse though, just different. the plot was kind of confusing, but maybe it will explain in the third one. i don't have any complaints, but why was barbosa alive again if jack could not be. you might need a body to bring people back though.

I think it was a waste of money. Some parts of the movie were point-less, like the part with the native people who think he is god. That had nothing to do with anything. I really liked the first one though.

well the next one will be even more gay than the previous 2 captain jack comes out of the closet and services his entire crew... its brokeback pirates of the caribean or butt pirates of the carribean they arent sure what the motion picture association will let them get away with yet..

I agree with the first two answers, and yourself. It wasn't as funny, didn't make much sense, and half the time you didn't know what the heck anyone was talking about!!

look unwell....bypass on your nearby library they have new dvd and vhs to can borrow for each week ....I only went to library friday and borrow superman returns!!!! Its loose and no hassel
