laptop hot make sure your not puting the laptop on a bed i know they say a laptop can be used on your lap and on a bed but just think if you block the air vent's that is why the laptop is hot best place for a lap top is on a desk and make sure there is no dust in the laptop cpu fan put the back of your hand to the cup air fan it it is blowing out hot air you will have to have a new cpu fan put in .. as you never said how old your laptop pc was

Depends on what CPU chip you are running. Have an HP with INtell 1.8 that runs as hot as hell...Have an HP with new AMD the is much cooler. This assumes you are not blocking vents and fan holes. Probably very characteristic of your lap top. Good luck

Have u made sure all the ventilation holes are not being blocked by anything? The fan needs to keep the laptop cool, and so needs to be exposed to air, not blocked, by a book, or something.

Just because the vents look clean doesn't mean the cpu and video heatsink fins are not clogged with dirt. The fans need to be working also.
