Replace the following for sure. Timing belt (if it has one), water pump, spark plugs, Any hard to reach water hoses, rear main crankshaft seal (a must), and why not throw on a cheap oil pan gasket to be sure. The water pump is really a good idea if it is hard to reach when the engine is in the car or if the engine is a few years old. But if you do not replace anything else, replace the timing belt and rear main seal.

I agree with crazytrain and also be aware some engines are used in several different applications and years so make sure your exhaust manifolds and such will hook up right before you get rid of the core (old engine) and sometimes there are different sensors etc... that are on your current vehicle that were not on the vehicle the other engine came out of. So swap or replace these kind of items before setting in place.

If you're only replacing the engine then you don't have to worry about other parts;)

Don't necessarily need to change any others if engine is identical. If it's not, then there could be many depending on what the difference are.
