yes you can get pregnant. whoever gave you the shot should have told you to use condoms too because no birth control works 100% of the time.

well yes, nothing is 100% but the chances are slim.. There have been plenty of women who have had children on the Depo shot. I was on it for a long time however and i never got pregant with my husband and we used no other form of protection, just the shot. However i want you to know the shot is very dangerous for your body and really messes it up. On top on that when you decided to have a child, basically take hwoever long you were on it, Thats how much longer it will be until you can get pregnant after stoping the shot. It cuases depression, weight gain, Bone mass loss, Sometimes nonstop bleeding and many many other physical problems, somtimes even infertility. I suggest you searching yahoo questions for " depo provera" or "the shot" and reading about all the horrible things it has cuase me and millions of other women. I strongly suggest a diffrent method. If your not over weight, i have heard the patch works really well in replace of taking a pill everyday. However if you are over weight it decreses the effectivness of the patchmore and more by how much overwieght you are.. Good luck to you

You should be safe from pregnancy with the shot, however, you are not being protected from std's. Also, no method of birth control is 100% effective. That means you have at least a 1 in 100 chance of getting pregnant even if the shot works perfectly. You sound young, I think 1 in 100 is too risky for a teenager. If you must have sex, I'd use a backup method as well, like condoms.

Well, nothing is 100% effective, so there is a chance that you could get pregnant...if you want to be more sure that you won't, use another form of protection along with your depo shot.

The shot is pretty effective. I think like something like 99%. I was on it for 7 years and never got pregnant.

those thing are rated like 99%
so do the math
99 percent means that it works 99 times out of 100
if you have sex 100 times then youre gonna get pregnant ;)
