You can't deny it. Johnny Depp! He has the sexier pirate role than Orlando. Plus he can pull off wearing black eyeliner as well. I loved him in Benny & Joon, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory... I think he is a greater actor than Orlando, but I do still love Orlando!

Johnny Depp there is no comparison. He has a huge body of work, he's acted in a ton of different genres from Pirates to Chocolat to Edward Scissor Hands. He's also an interesting person, and has been through so much from drug use, to something like 8 fiancees and now finally settled dow with Paradis. I think he's a great actor, and much more developed then Orlando Bloom who appears to be very limited.

The greates what? Ooooh my mind is racing. I really admire Johnny Depp. He is one of the greatest actors of our time since the beginning with Edward Scissorhands. Watch some of his interviews. Its amazing how he gets inside these characters head and almost becomes them. C'mon who else could channel Willy Wonka as a Peter Pan-ish wierdo with daddy issues? Johnny Depp all the way.

I think Johnny Depp is probably one of the best film actors of this generation, however, he won't ever be considered a truly great actor in the classic sense until he does some important work on stage. All of the truly great actors, like Olivier, Brando and Hepburn, performed well on stage, as well as on film.
