to feel 'cool' or like you're wearing the 'right stuff'.
or is that clothes like all the regular clothes at department stores, say, only with a label and a higher price?

no its not. actually its alot better if you devlop your own style. if you like those stores and other that dont "fit in" with that type try mixing them up. hollister and abercrombie are the same as any other place except the the price tag.

It is not nessessary, but teenagers do not have the savvy to just say no.Too impressionable at that age.I think it is more important to have clothes that fit and feel good on you. Also, there are so many fashion items that are cheaper than just all brand names though,if it makes you feel good for the moment,Splurge just once!! Not many kids or adults continue to buy all brand named items,it is better to be able to afford these things, and who cares anyway if you can.I do not know anyone who continues on this track of buying label only clothes,or shoes.Try a non-brand that looks similar and you will be able to afford some extra treats.Go and find it and you will not be branded as the K-mart chic....

When some younger kids buy those clothes they're really trying to impress everybody else. And plus it's mom & dad's money what there spending. If you feel cute in something then buy it! It doesn't have to be name brand. And at the end you'll feel good buying a lot with a little.

It is not "necessary" to buy those brands of clothes, it is your choice to do so. If you can afford them and you prefer those brand name clothes then get them. If you want to feel cool then wear what makes you feel and look good. Not all things are suited for all people. Be you!

i think it's necessary because it makes me feel good, like i'm worth something, because of the expensive clothes and stuff. I don't like department store stuff. it doesn't feel the same.

no i dont, i cant afford any of the stuff but i do wear moslty vintage clothes.... and i got some from delias ( kinda exspensive) but i also got some from walmart.. and no one cam tell the difference at all. you should wear what ever looks good and that your comfortable in, dont worry about being "cool" its never as nice as it seems.. just be yourself ^.^
