**I would probably travel back to the 1950's and probably see Elvis perform. I always thought that the 50's was one of the nicest decades.

I would go to Italy where my family started. I would love to meet my great grandfather. He is exactly 100 years older than me! My great grandmother is exactly 100 years older than my little sister!!! I have always wanted to go to Italy with them. My dad has told great stories about how wonderful they were!!

The 50's were NOT the nicest of decades (only on television). Racism and discrimination was the name of the game. Women were not encouraged to attend college (we were supposed to put on an apron and be ruled by the "man of the house" and the poor "man of the house" had to work tireless hours at low wages just to keep a roof over his family). Blacks were treated horribly (forget college and getting a decent job!). The draft existed and young American boys were sent off to fight in the long and worthless Vietnam conflict. Catholic priests were having their way with young male alter boys. And Elvis was treated like a country bumpkin until he started making $$$ and then he couldn't figure out who was a friend and who wasn't. Stay in the future, kid. If you had a time machine... the best place to go is FORWARD.

I would go back to the fifties and make smart investments and help my parents as much as I could without changing the future. I would set up a fund for myself and kids that would not come into fruition until today.

It was a kinder gentler time
