Definitely. But it has nothing to do with predicting the future.

Here is the skinny from a witch. Yes there is "truth" to fortune telling. However just like anything else, there are those that can read or interpret the cards or rune stones very well and then there are those that can't then there are those who pretend and take your money. For a "reading" to work it is a two way street. The person who is having the fortune told must be open to the suggestions or directions (that is what they are) given by the person doing the reading. The person doing the reading must remain objective and have good communication skills and strong knowledge of the tool they are using.

I myself am skilled in the pendulum and the rune stones, my partner on the other hand can read cards like a pro. If you are looking for someone to do a reading beware of anyone who is in a "psychic shop". They can be in it for the money. I am not saying that all of them are but you have no way to determine their integrity. My suggestion is go to you local occult supply shop and ask the people that work there. They would have knowledge of readers that either don't charge (the best kind) or a minimal cost (usually no more than 20 bucks). This minimal charge is for just their time. However if they say you need to come back,...DON'T. They are not in it for helping only for the money.

the secret to predicting the future is to make lots of predictions and when one comes true to proclaim it as loudly as possible. Fortune telling is similar, you reveal a lot about your self with out ever being aware of it. A good fortune teller clues in, and with the response you give to statement and questions can tell you a lot about your life and relationships. Stuff that no one could know but you, but you told them without even being aware. You can not help some responses like pupil dilation, skin tone, colour, body stance and tension. Fortune telling is truly a fine art and a part of the acting profession. Many of these people would make great psychologists

It is a natural human desire to want to know what's going to happen to us and what decisions we should make. Rather than just letting life happen day by day and making all their decisions by themselves, people look for the answers in many different places. We can be extremely insecure and worried over the effects of making a wrong decision, so we need to know what is right.

Our society is very fatalistic; there is a belief that life is all mapped out, that the future cannot be changed - but that if we can find someone who can read that map, we can be better prepared for what is going to take place. If we want guidance about what we should do in a situation - we could always ask other people who we trust for suggestions, but people usually want more certainty about what is right than the opinions of the people they know and so they turn to other sources.

So what sources do people turn to? They seek guidance and a knowledge of the future from fortune tellers, clairvoyants, mediums, from horoscopes, tarot cards, crystals, runes - in fact almost everywhere apart from God.

Believe it or not some are quite accurate if you believe then thats all that matters

Throughout history, there have been people who "seemed" to be able to fortell the future. Nostradamus was probably the most famous, but there have been others who were not quite as "accurate". I have to admit that Nostradamus has a very high percentage of "hits", but that's also if you look back and interpret his quatrains to mean what actually happened. Fortune telling is like psychic powers, we have many examples, but no real proof. I know this isn't the answer you want, but it's the only "real" answer that can be given.

I think there is a visible and an invisible world. The invisible world is populated by spirits - good and bad ones - angels and deamons respectively. Angels are servants of God and are at his command, not ever human command...though you can ask God for them to protect you... But deamons are minions of Satan and they come in all sorts of cunning disguises.

Have you ever heard that the most dangerous lies always hide closest to the truth? That is: you would spot a blatant lie a mile off...but the subtle ones are more insipid.

No doubt that evil spirits work with and through humans who are willing to invite them. I think you should be incredibly careful about having any involvement with spiritual forces you know little about.

I am a Christian and think Jesus is the best ever. I know that does not always sound cool....and many people think they know all about Christian spirituality but often they don't. I think Jesus is the first place to start if you want to learn spiritually. He is seriously attractive when you look at all the radical, counter-culture things he did.

They tell everyone what they want to here. Go to a fortune teller and you will be amazed what they know about you, then ask someone else and they will say they were told the same things... its true. They are just good judges of character.

Absolutely not, or every fortune teller would win the lottery consistently.
