I'm very sad about asking this question but YOU've made it.
There were terrorism going on with your own hands for a long time.
Saddam was a man supported by US.
Bin Laden was working against Soviet Russia with the help of US.
A lot of terrorist groups have been supported by western countries for their benefit.

Now all of a sudden the whole western civilization decides to destroy terrorism that hits them.

What were you doing before that? Why didn't you react when it was killing other people that you don't want to see?

Your countries were destabilizing whole middle-east to control it easily. That's what happens when you play with fire.

You've helped the terrorist organizations that was killing thousands of people in your ally's country.(Referring US helping PKK in Turkey) (*PKK is accepted as a terrorist group by US government)

PKK killing babies in Turkey became ''Freedom Fighters'' but the ones that you are fighting are terrorists.
Don't you think it's unfair.

thank you for this question. i been asking the same thing now for years. the american public seems to stupid to understand the screwed foriegn policy of america.

america's foriegn policy creates enemies. plain and simple. america rather have the taliban in control than a soviet backed stable government? what the hell kind of reasoning is that?

or take iran, america supported the shaq, and the shaq was very brutal to its poeple, so looked what happened, after the iranian revolution, america becomae iran's number one enemy, especially after our support for sadaam hussien!

it is biting us in the *** in central and south america now, the US support for the corrupt capitialist governemnts have made america enemies of the people but not the governemnts.

america only supports american friendly governments, not people friendly, like in turkmenistan, there is a group that wants to overthrow the authoritive regime there, but now the USA has designated that group a "terrorist" group in order to secure airspace through turkmenistan for the afgan war. how screwed is that?

as i said before, america only supports american friendly governments, not people friendly ones.

america just thinks just because a country has elections and a free market, it must be good!

want a good look at screwed american policies? just visit kyrgyzstan, you will see the politicians driving around in their brand new land cruisers and benz's, all paid for by america, just so america can keep the little airbase there. the rest of the population is suffering because the officials in charge are so corrupt they don't allow any money into the rest of the country.

that little revolt last year? oh yes, NGO from the "west" were the main backers because the former pres wasn't going to support the US presense in the country anymore.

its all going to come full circle back to america one day.

The sad part is, US history books (at least high school and below) tend to "whitewash" the bad stuff, or at least downplay it, and present it as if everything in the past was hunky-dory, and had a problem which was easily fixed and as a result, things are A-OK now.

As a result, many US citizens are ignorant of many of the things their country did in the past.

However, to blame every US citizen is also ignorant. Just like not every Muslim is a terrorist (which you sort of seem to imply), not everyone in the US supports what their government did in the past (just look at the Vietnam War protests for one).

The main problem I see with the US is that they often do short-sighted stuff. The reason why they did some of the things they did is because they were afraid of communism (with good reason though, communists weren't exactly saints either. Heck, more people died because of Stalin than Hitler, you should study them sometime). Nevermind the fact that those people chosen are usually idiots and aren't a good choice, they're anti-communist, so they're "okay" with us (when communism was still around).

The solution? It won't be easy, but I think that they should stop presenting history in pre-college classes as a one way street. They should also show the "bad stuff" that many people in the past did, so that we can have a more complete view of what happened in the past, and why it affects us now (I read in two different sources that the US actually sent soldiers to help fight the "Reds", or communists, in Russia in 1920, but that's left out of US high school history books because it's not "pretty" to hear about it. However, Soviet Union era books mention that the US also invaded, so every Soviet citizen knew about that.

Same thing with Mexico and the illegal immigration problem. Although it's a lot more complex than what I'm going to say here, many Mexicans believe that the US stole what's known as the southwestern part of the US from them during the Mexican war (and you could argue that. But, you could also argue that they never really owned it either, cause it was the Native Americans lands. They just simply assumed it was theirs).

Heck, from what I read, the US could've simply made Mexico into another US state cause they got beaten so badly that US troops entered Mexico City after some fighting (I think a few weeks). But because many politicians were prejudice back then (and some probably still are), they didn't want hispanics being in the US, so they left Mexico alone, and took the rest of the area they owned.

However, what I'm saying here doesn't just apply to the US. Every other country should also do this as well. It's hard to talk about the "bad stuff" your people did in the past, but if you don't discuss it, then future generations will be ignorant of what happened (I heard that the Turkish people also killed about a million Armenians during World War 1, known as the Armenian Genocide, yet the Turkish government to this day denies that ever happened).

You are absolutely right!
At the end, it all comes down to whether the group is serving in their (you know who) interest or not. For example, the Soviet union was emerging as a super power back in the day, and other countries didn't want to see that happen. Thus, they didn't mind Bin Laden fighting, and firing his missiles to weaken the soviets and to keep them busy.. Look what it led to. Where's the soviet union now?

Well , I'm angry about terrorism now because Im from India and not America. here , we Hindus were living peacefully. Muslims come here , converted many people ,........... then after the indo-pak partition , muslims 2 were allowed to stay in India. now see what they do...... put bombs on our trains, destroy infrastructure , kill men , overpopulate like pigs in a country with population explosion , accept the reservations here and distribute sweets when pak defeats India in a match. will you like that if we did the same to you in a muslim country? thats why i hate terrorists and muslims.
