adfarm.mediaplex.com/ why are they always trying to redirect on Yahoo and slowing down my broswser?

While mediaplex does advertise on yahoo... do the usual upkeep steps (defrag, scan for viruses and spyware)

Then block mediaplex in your hosts file - http://www.logicaltips.com/LPMArticle.asp?ID=506

127.0.0.1 media.fastclick.net
