I see most of these answers lean towards college ball, which is my favorite too. That's why I'm so surprised that Y! Q&A seems to be heavy on NFL, not enough NCAA.

NFL by far. It's much more exciting and the season is longer.

Yeah, NCAA has a lot of tride and true rivalries and some ravenous fans. However, I still prefer NFL. I get tired of seeing long pass, score, long pass, score. OR---hand off to the one guy who runs down the field--score. NCAA games are such high scoring games, they are all offensive game, nothing defensive as far as I see. Plus, the kids are young. They havne't honed their craft yet. I will take a crappy NFL game over the 60-12 score NCAA game anyday.

Plus, the stupid way they rank teams in the NCAA--it's all political. At least in the NFL, you make it to the playoffs based on your record, not because strength of schedule or points accumulated in a game. I understand that the NCAA is so big that it is virtually impossible to have the kind of playoff system that the NFL has, but there is inevitably a controversy almost every year about who really is #1 in the NCAA. At least in the NFL, you make it to the Super Bowl, you win, BAM--you are now #1. Simple and efficient.

NFL. The NCAA football champion is always mythical. Two teams, presumably undefeated get to play a bunch of pansies and then get geared up for only 2 or 3 tough games per season and if you are from the Northeast, the media bias will get you into the mythical championship game automatically when an undefeated team like Auburn from 2 years ago has no shot while OU gets embarrased out of the stadium just after they finished getting embarassed out of the Big 12 championship game.
I enjoy watching the games however as they are the minor leagues for the NFL.

The NFL because you rarely have the 56 - 7 blowouts that you have in college. The only reason you have the rivalry on a national level is because the tv channels hype it. If they hyped the divisional games as much as college you'd have the same thing. If you doubt me go to a Oakland-Denver game or Phily - Washington game. The rivalry is there its just not shown on tv. And the NFL has a legit Championship system. The 49ers or Texans (or any other crap team) can go into the season with a chance to win it all. Wyoming or Hawaii don't have that chance. Enough said.

I love the pagentry surrounding the college game. The ladnscape is always changing with new players every three or four years and the fans are awesome for the most part. I follow the NFL, but I find it to be too business-like, which is understandable, because it's big business! But the players have a tendency to treat it thatwat too and in my opinion it affects the overall quality of their play. The mistakes they make are just as common in the NFL (fumbles, INT'S and such) are things they shouldn't make as many of as when they were in college. Give me Tennessee/Alabama or Army/Navy over Green Bay/Detroit anyday!

This is tough....

I like the NCAA because it is all true emotions, true potential and vigor to win games, not because you are under contract. The rivalries and college atmosphere also is something exclusive to college football...but then there's the bowl system....
I like the NFL because all of the players are at the highest quality, highest talent, and really the best of the best, a true treat to see. Too bad many of them are headcases... Go Broncos!

For the run of the mill fan, NFL. Fewer teams to follow and thus less overwhelming. For those who really know their football, then NCAA is no doubt more intense.

NCAA because the rivalries are intense. Go Pat White, Steve Slaton, and the rest of the West Virginia Mountaineers!!!!!

I never really liked watching the college game on television. Just the pro's. However I will gladly watch any level of football from the stands or sidelines. I'm even drifting away from the pro game because of the incessant chatter from the multitude of announcers in any given game.

College. The NFL cannot match the passion, the pageantry, and the rivalries that make college football that much better.
