Well, you should go for a manual one-time treatment called Atlasprofilax. The effect on the self-healing power of the body is simply amazing - as the spine gets set straight for the first time in life, the muscles are relaxed and your symptoms should disappear.

And it's really worth travelling far - at present, the treatment is available in California and Europe only, costing around 200 Dollars. Good luck!

there's only one hope for depression. That is an effective anti depressant medication. Depression comes from a checmical imbalance in the neurotransmitters and the brain and nothing in the world will alleviate unless you compensate for it. The right medication will do it. When you're depressed, you're unable to interact with a therapist by talking or be with or around anyone so talk therapy won't work. Being around people is a waste because the loss of interest makes it difficult to tolerate company and again, verbal interaction. You will have no desire for pets or taking care of animals as it's too labor intensive, too complex and your mind can't handle it. Excercise requires motivation which you have none. Until you can compensate for the chemical imbalance that's causing the depression and anxiety, none of these suggestions are useful.. Once you regain your sense of motivation and desire to do things, only then can any interaction or activity possibly help feel good.. There are ssri's, snri's mao inhibitors and trycyclic anti depressants. Some work better than others depending on the individdual. It is frustrating until you find one that works well with tolerable side effects. If none of these are ever an option, try ect (shock therapy)l

The knots will keep on coming back. They can be due to stress. The only way to get rid of them is to get a deep massage done on the area. Usually, they will not go in one session so you will need a few before they start to disappear. Basically they are small lumps on your muscle that need to to ironed out and popped as much as possible by someone applying pressure.

Why do you think you get them?

Hunched over a computer - then is postural - you need to change your habits.

Stress from work or studies - a massage might help or a tens machine can be a good way to relax stressed muscles.

Damage done whilst playing sports? An osteopath will soon habve your spine re-alligned.

General poor posture - stooping cos you are tall maybe or carrying heavy bags - a pilates class might help you manage that better.

Go to a chiropractor. HE/ She will help you get rid of all the knots in your shoulders along with whatever else is out of place.
Chropractors are awesome--. Doctors may only treat the symptoms, chiropractors will get rid of whats causing them..

I would go to the doctor, get some stretching exercises, or some physical therapy, and then continue to do those exercises to keep your shoulders limbered up.
