I love that kind os grass. It feels like a thick carpet and it doesn't need a lot of watering. It never grows very tall either. I would love to have a yard full of it.

Overall, I'd say Bermuda grass. In some countries it is considered a weed because of its hardiness. Jamie5987 is right, San Augustine is a very good grass but water intensive and does not do as well in direct sunlight...furthermore San Augustine grass does not harbor chiggers (Trombicula afreddugesi)...a very perniciuous problem here in the south.

There is no such thing as a best grass.
There is a best grass for certain growing conditions however.
Don't know your growing conditions nor your location so my answer will be very limited.
I have seen a very nice Zoysia lawn at the local botanic garden.

I live in Houston, Tx and tried it once. I hated it. It's very sparse - it wasn't pretty at all. I ended up having the whole backyard redone with St. Augustine grass. That what we typically have in this area - it's very lush and thick and very drought resistant (although you have to water it regularly in the hottest summer months).

depending on where you live, if you live in a place that doesn't get much rain, you should try buffalo grass, it is the prettiest grass that Ive seen. It has such a unique color.

Stays green even in drought conditions. It smothers weed growth and flourishes with vermiculite.
