Tip #2: If you must, try interning at a local TV or radio station. You may have to work for free, but at least you'll be getting valuable on-the-job training... Good luck.

You must start at the bottom. I suggest starting in a small market for a small station, you'll do more in a smaller shop. Then work yourself up to bigger markets.
