wanting to know if my email address appears in any way on a website i visit... not sure if there are things that capture that or just the search engine

If you visit the site through a link in an e-mail, then they have it. Always copy/paste your links to the browser to avoid this.

Im sure that the answer is no. I have a bussiness website and I have never been offer to have e-mail tracking on my wesbite. The only thing a website can log its the systems stats and the information about visits, such as how many times a day or at what time.

yes, visits to websites can be tracked, that's why some sites won't let you on them without cookies enabled. these "cookies" are placed on your computer and usually keep track of how often you visit a site and what your user name and password are for the site. a good way to remove cookies is Ad-aware or any good anti-spyware program. As for not revealing e-mail addres, location etc. the best thing for that is to get ghost surf. though most sites do not have a way to actually get your e-mail.
