Clerks started out as a low budget documentary, but ended up being turned into a comedy. It's basically a day in the life of a convienience store clerk, (a really BAD day!) If you have ever had a job serving the public or in retail, you will relate to some of the things in this movie. I think it's hilarious. This movie also marks the first appearence of Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith), who appear in all but one of Kevin Smith's movies. Clerks is definitely worth seeing, but I haven't seen 2 yet, so I couldn't tell you if it's good or not.

It's about a day in the life of Dante Hicks, a clerk at a convient store, and his slcker of a best friend, Randall, a clerk at the video store across the street. It's a lot of witty and intellectual dialogue and very strange (too weird to make this stuff up) situations.
But it isn't so much about the storyline as much as it is the movie itself. It has a lot of one-liners and you get to know the characters really well. I have to insist that you go see the first one before going off and seeing the second.

I don't know why everyone makes a big deal about it. Clerks 1 sucked. I have no reason to see Clerks 2.

You really need to see the 1st one before you see Clerks 2

The first clerks is about randal and dante. Dante is working at the quickie-mart, even tho it was supposed to be is day off. Randal works at the video rental place next door. The main thing is they complain about work, women, money, the usual. It is very funny, I recommend seeing it. It was almost given an x rating just because of graphic dialog. You probably don't need to see it to enjoy clerks 2.

WATCH IT!!! it is hilarious, but I've no interest in seeing Clerks 2
my friend saw Clerks then went to see Clerks 2, he hated the first but loved the second.

DO NOT go see clerks 2 before you see the first one. They are both B movies and is an aquired taste in movies...... so unless you like B movies dont even see it. and the first one introduces you to the characters so dont try to see the second one first!

Go to Hollywood Video or Family Video and rent it for about 8 dollars.
Hour and a half later I am willing to bet you will be informed.
Personally, I would bypass the whole idea of it all together.
First one was horrible, second one will be too.
