EEWW I can imagine how bad the smell is. Take it to a detailing shop. They have industrial strength supplies that may help.

Wash your trunk with a good carpet cleaner. Leave the trunk open to let it dry and air out really good. When you're ready to close it put a box of baking soda in the trunk. Make sure you puncture some holes in the box. You might want to put it in an open dish overnight. Just remember to remove it when you need to drive or you'll end up having to vacuum the trunk. But that wouldn't be too bad of a thing since the baking soda in the carpet will absorb even more of the smell. However, baking soda can be a pain to vacuum and it clogs up the vacuum.

You have to take everything out of the trunk....Scrub the inside of the trunk with very strong cleaner like TSP. Rinse and then scrub with something scented like PineSol. Replace the carpet and pad. This should take away a lot of the smell but there will be residual odor forever.

That happened to me but it was chicken livers. I thought someone had put a dead body in my trunk. LOL It took forever to get the smell out. Try putting charcoal and newspapers in the trunk. Leave it open as much as possible. I think I finally use ammonia then rewashed it with vinegar.

Put a couple of 40 lb bags of unscented unused (do I really have to say that??) kitty litter into plastic boxes w/ no lids into your trunk. Keep it closed for a few weeks and that may help. Also, if their is dead chicken juice in the carpet, it would have to be cleaned or removed and replaced, along w/ any carpet pad.

I'd scrub the carpets in the trunk with carpet cleaner, spray a ton of febreze and leave the trunk open for a while to let it air out.

My husband is a fisherman - we understand :) Sprinkle half baking soda and half powder carpet cleaner in your trunk - let set overnight and vacuum at a public carwash. Also, check with your local veterinarian or possibly Petco for pet enzyme odor elimating aerosol. - You may find it helpful to put a couple of boxes of baking soda (they make a non-spill version) in the car.
Go lightly if you decide to use Febreze - it does have a tendency to adhere oils to the carpet fibers, which will cause a future stain to set.

If it's your car it might be easiest to have it professionally detailed. Open some baking soda which is supposed to absorb odors, and then maybe try some carpet/furniture cleaner and spray febreeze. The combination might be overwhelming though, which is why I recommend just get it done professionally. Usuaully only costs about $25.

sprinkle baking soda in the trunk, then put crumbled newspaper down. leave the trunk open over night. vaccum out the truck and take some vodka and put it in a squirt bottle and squirt it all over the interior of the trunk. leave the trunk open as well. that should do the trick.

sprinkle and saturate with dry baking soda. Open the trunk and let it sit out in the sun. Then vaccum. The next day, saturate with Freebreeze and then do the same thing. Let it sun dry. If this does not work. see if you can find an auto detailer who can fumigate it for you.
