Karen, I don't believe Bush really does have love for God and faith in Christ at the level people like you think he does. I think he is someone who tries to portray himself that way in order to gain the support of strong believers like you. If you really consider all of his actions, he is not following the teachings of Christ. I am guessing that you aren't old enough to remember what President Jimmy Carter was like. I suggest you try to read about him. He is someone who clearly was trying in every possible way to follow the teachings of Christ.
The other reason I have trouble with Bush is that he has abused his power. His administration has acted outside of the law on multiple occasions now. When it is discovered, he tries to claim that the law didn't apply to him, or that it was necessary for our saftey to break the law. In every such case, I and many others don't agree. We think that he could have done his duty and kept us safe and still followed the law.

There are several reasons why Bush is hated by many Americans;
1. The war in Iraq (The original intentions of the war was to eliminate the weapons of mass destruction, but when we found out that there were none we still bombed the hell out of the country, hence forth he lied to us to about the true intentions of the war.)
2. Hurricane Katrina (when the people of New Orleans were resorting to Marshall law just to survive , our country and leader sat and watched it occur without lifting a finger.)
3.It is embarrassing to have a president that for the most part acts like an uneducated hick. The constant stuttering and mispronunciations of words has caused our country to become the laughing stock of the world.
4. His "religious convictions" unfortunately our country is not entirely made up of Christians and what he personally believes should not effect our country, but it does
5. He is a politician, If one decides to enter that career ,one has to be prepared for opposition, It doesn't matter if he was the best president in the history of man , he would still have enemies

First off, he wanted to spy on his own countrymen, through phones and emails without having to offer any warning, or issue any papers, etc. Thank god that got shot down in court. (The judge told him that just because he was president, doesn't mean he had the right to REwrite the constitution... I'm paraphrasing)
Secondly, go to Yahoo! News and look up the political cartoons those help get a clearer picture on what going on in the world. Also, look up the article about the candid conversation between English prime minister Tony Blair and George Bush at the G8 Convention when they though they were alone and no mics were on (wrong on the mic) he tries to act all "gangster" and swears, and the things they discuss let you KNOW he's corrupt.

First he stole the presidency, then he arranged 9/11, then he bypassed congress to declare war on a country that was too poor to fight back, then it was proven that his justifications for that war was a big fat lie. Oh and his family and the Bin Ladens are old oil buddies. And he's a totalitarian pig. He forced the Patriot Act and undermined the constitution. He's ok with torturing terror suspects, and eavesdropping on American citizens. By the way do you realize that the Patriot Act does away with innocent until proven guilty?

Where do you start?

How about the fact that we had a financial surplus when Clinton was in office. Now we are hundreds of billions of dollars in debt.

With Israel and Lebanon going to war for the last 12 days instead of sending representatives to the region to try and calm things down we have sped up our shipments of smart bombs to Lebanon. This of course upsets Syria and Iran and turns them against us even more.

His policies on North Korea have turned them to start building nuclear weapons again.

In South America he has called leftist and majority leaders in Venzuela and Bolivia "evil brewin in the south" as opposed to trying start diplomatic relations with them.

So does he start world war three in the far east (North Korea), the middle east (Syria, Iran) or in South America (Venzuela, Bolivia and Cuba)?

The rich in America are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.

He spies on you illegally.

Here are some of his lies:
In a press conference last week he told reporters that there has been no evidence that North Korea has nuclear weapons. But last year a CIA report was made public about North Korea's nuclear capabilities.
He said that we were not going to invade Iraq.

There is so much to go into... I don't even know where to end this. It is tough to travel to foreign countries because I have to apologize for the fact that the country I come from has the anti-christ as a leader.

American politics have become so polarized in the last 10 years or so, that there are large numbers of people hate George Bush and wouldn't believe him if he said "Good morning."

Had a Democratic candidate been elected, there would have been people in equal numbers on the other end of the political spectrum hammering him.

There are lots of reasons to distrust this president. We can begin with his first presidential run, campaigning in Mexico, where he was flag waving and glad handing and lots of photo ops. Since when does Mexico vote in a U.S. presidential election?

The voting fiasco when he was first 'elected' (I believe he was appointed).

This is known as the 'Order out of Chaos' theory, which worked for Adolf Hitler.

His second 'election' in which 36 states reported problems ranging from voter intimidation to 38,000 late absentee ballots and numerous Diebold voting machine glitches.

His utter contempt for the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

He is regarded as a Fascist.

First, take off the blinders that the word "Christian" puts on many well-meaning people when they look at Mr Bush.
Then, look at his behavior, his friends and their goals, his business practices, and the way he has been treating his own countrymen.
It isn't that people detest him, but that they feel betrayed by what he has done since he was put in office

Do some research, check into his business partners and the shady business practices they have followed at the expense of the American people. Start with Haliburton and go from there.
