Anyone that lives in New York - do you disagree with the release of the World Trade Center movie? Do you feel it's okay to release it at a later date?
Just NOT 5 years from the time it happened.
If you don't live in New York - what is your point of view on this situation? I hear a lot of people that DON'T live in NY want to see this...
But, I as a New Yorker - I would have to speak for most of us and say....It's way too early for this.
Let me know your feedback!

to the person that said "heck, americans don't remember yesterday"
well, if you lived here - you would remember the scene, and the smell, and the sounds like it WAS yesterday! It was horrible...
You may have seen it on tv - but we saw it out our windows.
We were in school when it happened - and that's even scarier. Thinking "Is mom out there? Where is dad? WHY THE HELL ISN'T MY CELL PHONE WORKING?" those were the thoughts as you tried to reach the people you loved. I figured none of you would understand. It's not that Americans don't remember yesterday - it's that americans have no compassion.

All they're going to do is make a movie portraying the publicized story of the events of that day...and not the truth. Everyone's too afraid of the Bush Administration to talk about what REALLY happened that day.
1.) THREE steel and concrete skyscraper buildings miraculously collapse in free-fall after BRIEFLY burning, when this has NEVER happened before.
2.) Two planes VANISH completely (flights 93 and 11)...one leaves a small empty crater in a field, one leaves a ROUND HOLE in the Pentagon...but BOTH VANISH.
3.) ALL fireman transcripts and recordings report NUMEROUS BOMBS and explosions going off ALL THROUGH the Twin Towers, and numerous big explosions were reported by ALL WITNESSES and NEWS CASTS (which are still available on news archives online) just prior to each building's collapse.
4.) Uniform/identical explosions can be SEEN 10- to 20 stories ahead of the collapsing debris in each falling tower, all the way down the buildings, in EVERY news broadcast showing the collapses.
5.) The film known as the "Fireman's Film", shot by one of the first fire teams to arrive on the WTC site shows the LOBBY destruction, which had NO SOOT or JET FUEL SMELL, but plenty of DUST...and later the explosion one level DOWN that killed one of their team.
6.) Jet fuel burns off IMMEDIATELY; the fires neither burned long enough nor hot enough to have caused collapse.
7.) Numerous floor closings and power-downs in the weeks prior to 9-11, security systems down, numerous workmen throughout the buildings, the owner taking out the multi-billion insurance policy (which included acts of terrorism) less that two weeks prior, the immediate removal of all the "evidence", no forensic studies, NORAD coincidently having "war games" at the same time...the list goes on.
Let Hollywood perpetuating the lie...but YOU should know the truth.

i don't see the point other than to get publicity or to make money.
everyone and their brother saw the actual 9/11 attacks, either when it happened, later on TV or whatever.
the best film of it was with that eastern europeon guy who was doing a film documentry with the NYFD. i really don't see how anyone can make something better than that, the real thing.
WTC is different than shindlers list or a ww2 movie or a vietnam movie, even pearl harbor. hardly anyone was there to see it and the film imagines were not that impressive. unlike the 9/11 attacks.
i think there should be a movie, but in the future, another 5 years from now.
but i really hope that they donate all the profits to a charity, everyone, even the actors, no one should make money off of this tragedy.

I live in the Seattle, WA area and I have no idea how most of NY feels but just reading many of the posts on this website shows us that most people have completely forgotten 9-11.
Even when it was happening most major news channels quit showing pictures of the trade center going down, almost immediately. Many people just don't care or don't realize the impact this horrible thing had.
If it takes a Hollywood movie to make people care again than OK. We don't have to go see it if it will bother us.
The truth is not a bad thing.

Then don't see it. Nobody is forcing anyone to watch the movie. That does bring up another question which is "When is it time?" Different people need different times. I remember right after the attacks when Mayor Rudy was on SNL and the cast asked him if it was ok to be funny yet. To some it was and some weren't ready to laugh. They just had to change the channel until they were ready. You take the time you need and everyone will understand. Just please don't judge others that are ready and/or would like to use these types of movies to remember why we are at war and why we need to defeat the terrorists.

I moved to the NYC area last year....before I moved here I just thought that 9/11 was awful but it didn't impact me really. Now that I'm here many of my friends know someone who died or was in the World Trade Center on the day of the attack.
I agree with you entirely that it is too early!

from what I see it only explains the after effect of the towers falling. It doesn't appear to touch what brought the building down in the first place. I hope Oliver Stone has enough pride to at least document in his movie the bombs in the building.

I don't live there but I believe that it should have been made 4 years ago. Every man, woman ,and child should remember 9/11 and why our fighting men and wemen are fighting over there.
