Depends upon your point of view.

If you've a lot of mails and you've got to select between the read and unread ones, google is much faster. Google has a automatic mail saving routine whenever you are creating mails. It also checks for a valid connection while you are typing the message. Yahoo lacks all these features.

In terms of services I think Yahoo beats google, because, you've got almost anything from creating websites to briefcases where you can store important documents like your resume for e.g. there by making it available anywhere you are.

Google is much better as a search engine. However, Yahoo! is better in many ways, especially because of the fact that Yahoo! has even more services than Google does, and when it comes to services which both Google and Yahoo! has, Yahoo! wins (exceptions to this are Google Video, AdSense and Blogger). As for Yahoo! Mail vs Gmail, even though Gmail has more memory (about 2.5 GB for free), Yahoo! mail is still much better, because it's much easier and more practical to use, especially since the arrival of Yahoo! Mail Beta.

Google use to be better, but all the SEO (search engine optimization) that companies and web sites are pulling is killing Google search. Notice now days when you do a search, you get nothing but companies at the top. The relevancy is terrible.

Over the 1/2 the people that call me for help with their small business web site - they only want to know one thing "how to get their web site on the front page of a Google search." They don't care what they have to do to achieve that.

Goolge needs to update their algorithm soon.

google is a better search engine but it doesnt have features that yahoo has. E.g. when you open yahoo u can instantly browse through latest international, sport and entertainment news without looking for it. also yahoo has features like answers which google doesnt.

I see no point is trusting one compnay for anything. Therefore I use GahooYoogle.com or Twingine, on a regular basis. They show me the search results from both Yahoo! and Google side-by-side.

GahooYoogle.com

Twingine

Shows how much both search engines miss the mark at times. For those kinda times there's always Ask.com.

for search, I rely more on Google, also for maps. As far as for other random things, like this answers feature, or games. I usually turn to Yahoo.
