My grandmother said to me when I was a child that it was a sign of good luck if the birds were not black, a black color bird meant death was on the way, while a white color was a gift from god. Sparrows which are brown, meant good luck. I really don't know if any of this is true of course, but hey why not think it was a good luck sign and may good luck will happen.

Sparrows are symbols of a return to home and also love.
Since there were two birds the symbolism is stronger.
Think about any past tiems or peope in your family, friendship or loved ones that you feel seperated from and think positivly about it as they are symbols
things being okay.
Or it could signify that love is coming to you from a possible relationship.

In the early times, ppl in our country believed that 2 sparrows coming into ur house means happiness is in the air...
im not superstitious, but this might be...

I have heard that if birds come inside your home that it means someone you love will pass away. I had a recent experience where these birds were flying into my front door...at the window. They did it for two or three days. My boyfriend's (we have been living together for about 4 years) father passed away soon after and the birds were gone. When my father came home from California to attend the services he told me that there were birds in his attic all week. He didn't know that I had birds trying to get inside my house. They were gone when he returned home.

Sparrows bring good luck and joy into your house. Try seeing if they are making a nest nearby. If so, that means your home will be protected from fires. DO NOT destroy the nest, because it will bring rain of misfortune upon your house.

If you are superstitious it means there will be 2 deaths coming in the near future. If you are not superstitious then it just means 2 birds flew into your house and now you have to get them out.

Two schools of thought on this
1 - is that a if a bird comes in that it is a message, because birds are thought to be God's messengers
2 - is that it is a sign of death
(In my view this does not have to mean a physical death though. it could mean the death of a habit, a way of doing something, thinking, a relationship, many things)

In folklore superstition it is believed that sparrows carry the souls of the dead, and that when a bird flies into your home someone will die.

I dobut it. I see sparrows and other birds sneak into my local Wal-Mart all the time and hang out in the rafters. I doubt there's anything to look into about it.
