I have some music in my computer but they can only open in realplayer. If I try opening them in Window Media Player they wouldn't open and I get this message:

Window Media Player encountered an unknown error. This can occur when another program of operating system component encounters a problem but does not communicate the nature of the problem to the player.

Is there any way to download these songs using real player onto my mp3 or open the songs in window player? I would prefer opening it using window player. Thanks in advance.

Your file is a format the windows media player can't read. My guess is it is a real player file, or a aac/m4a file. To convert them to mp3, I'd suggest downloading an audio editing/mixing program like Audacity, set it up to record from stereo mix, close all programs but Audacity and real player, hit record on audacity, play the file in real player, and then when it finishes hit stop in Audacity. You will then probably want to remove any excess silence at the beginning and end with Audacity. You will then be able to convert the file to mp3 with a dll from winLAME that you can download with Audacity.

This way takes time, and will probably result in a loss of quality, but I don't know of any other way of converting aac/real player files to mp3, except by burning them to a cd and ripping them to your computer in the right format (which might make more sense with a lot of files, or if you have cd-rws.
