CFCs from hairsprays and stuff made a big hole in the southern hemisphere. ozone is a molecule made up of 3 oxygen atoms that protects the earth from certain harmful rays coming from the sun. if the hole gets bigger, the people under the hole will be at a higher risk for skin cancer. however CFCs have been banned so it's all good:)

don't listen to the idiots on TV. they know nothing, most of them never graduated high school, such as peter jennings. there is no thinning of the ozone layer, ozone doesn't really exist in a layer. it is at every elevation in our atmosphere, it is simply a bit thicker near the top of the troposphere. the only ozone level variation occurs at the poles, and this is simply because sunlight is what creates ozone. in the summer, the south pole gets no sun for six months, so by october, the ozone has mostly degraded. this is why they whine about it in oct and nov. all through the winter, the south pole gets sun all day, all night. and the ozone is repleted

I think that all of the little ways we damage the environment will add up to a big problem.
I also think that I don't care about people who don't care.
