If you used a regular interior say latex paint you can pop them off with a fingernail. If not, we use simple green. It won't hurt your countertop. Spray it on the paint specks, leave for about 5 minutes, and the paint should wipe off with a paper towel. You might have to leave it on a little longer depending how long the paint has sat. I used to paint for a living and we were told not to use turpentine or paint thinner unless it was a last resort due to possible damage to a surface.

Most interior paints are now a water-based paint. You should be-able to remove it by srubbing with soap and water using one of those little sponge pads that have one side sponge and the other side a non-abrasive scrubbing surface. Some times , if it is stubborn you may have to use a finger nail or plastic putty knife to get them up. You could also try a counter-top spray. I keep Lysol Antibacterial Kitchen Cleaner in my kitchen. Also there's Bar keepers Friend, a dry powder;in a sprinkle can. Zud, wet or dry, and Soft Scub. They are all good cleaners.

Use Goo Gone. Stuff is great. They sell it at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. The sh*t is safe on surfaces and removes crap like paint drippings, etc.
