Essentially being the only day in the week that i don't "have" to do anything, when i wake up, the first thing i do is take in the sunshine the way i don't during the rest of the week. I decide, i have to experience today to its fullest so, i take a walk down East Coast park, by the beach. I say hello to people strolling past, smile at the runners who pant their way on and sometimes pat the dogs that come sniffing at my ankles. I stop at either Macdonalds or Coffee Bean for breakfast, probably ending up having a conversation with someone. We discuss his/her life and then i'll probably relate my own experiences, usually the weekly ones. After breakfast, i take a stroll to the beach and sit by the breakwaters for a bit. A combination of sunlit skies, birds and the sea's a great way to start the day. A while later, knowing the morning's coming to an end, i start walking home. As i do, i take in the sight, the smell and sound of everyone around me. They're not just doing their own thing anymore. They're doing their favourite thing, on a Sunday, and acknowledging that.. that's my favourite thing to do on a Sunday.

An ideal Sunday for me would definately be a family orientated day. I'm not sure why or since when but that thought has been ingrained in me for as long as I can remember that Sunday is also family day.

In an ideal situation, Sunday mornings would start early, with breakfast with the wife and kids, be it at home or out. Following which, a visit to the in-laws place for lunch and catching up, and finally dinner at my parents place.

But then again, I'm still single so that remains a plan :)

For now, my Sundays are spent alone, as the family works on Sundays, while I work on Sunday nights. However, we still try to make it for dinner together before I go to work, and that, for now, is my favourite thing to do on a Sunday.

God created the world in six days and then he rested on the seventh day ..Most likely it was a Sunday.. Though none of the "good" books go into details of how exactly God took a rest ,here is somethings a fellow mortal does and which you could follow.

Motto for Sunday : Relax.....(wooooshaaaa)
The whole week is there to get on your nerves so sunday's should be meant for relaxing ..totally relaxing . I like variety in my Sunday's so no two sundays should be the same.. so here are the options
1) Say cuddled in bed
- Just stay in bed ....and get pampered. Get your beakfast in bed , read a book , watch a movie, listen to the radio and laze around. (Belive me it motivates you to get out of the bed come Monday )

2) Wake up early :
Wake up early go for a grand breakfast, I usually choose one of the hotels , the options are endless and the price for beakfast in any of the hotel is not very high . Also you need not dress up ..so you can just don a jeans and tee shirt and go.I usualy favour ..The Intercontinental ..(bugis) ..the sunlight streams into there dining area and the breakfast is great.
Have a nice meal , if you can get a good witty friend who doesnot mind relaxing with you that's even better. Stay here a while and pile yourself nicely and enjoy the sights, the smell and the conversation.
Next doors the national library (bugis) opens its doors at 10 am . I usually go in and grab a good book that I have not read in a while (remeber to take a relaxing book ..something witty or poetry will be a nice option ..it should be soemthing you can read aloud)
Next I usually go down the Mac Ricthie Resourvoir park ..rent a boat. Its water is beautiful in the morning with the sun just a bit behind the clouds and seeing the turtles is an experience. If there are two of you one can read while the other can read aloud .. Poetry and water ..hmm or if you are alone just turn on the radio and lazyly row around the place..
You can also walk along the trails or sit by the lake and read your book. May be even read aloud to yourself , poetry feels totally different when read alound than when read in the mind.

Option 3 : housework ,
Its not prefered its a necessity choice.

Option 2 is my prefered choice ..Its nice and totally relaxing ...Hmm I still wonder how God rested on his sunday.

Sundays! A time to sleep in and laze around the house but now-a-days thats's not very possible! My mornings start at 8am (9, if I can't convince myself to get off the bed). The usual toilet trip and on to serve the net and check e-mails. By 11, it'll be breakfast time. After that, it'll be a trip over to my new home for some painting and tidying up.
The above is what I'm doing now but after September, this is what I expect: Being woken up by a morning kiss with the aroma of breakfast on a tray in bed, served by the man I said "I do" to. Next would be a shopping session which I treat as my weekly exercise followed by a nice dinner. Last but not least, return home for an early night to prepare for the Monday blues in the office!

Sundays..... I'm always at home!! Hahaha...

I just love to relax and have a day of my own every week. Sunday is the day where I'll recharge myself with a week's supply of energy. I love to sleep until the sun is in mid sky. Then will slowly wake up and slowly get myself wash up. I love to do things slowly during sundays! Other days, I had been rushing to work, rushing to get my work done, rushing during meal times, rushing to get home etc etc. So during Sundays, I do things very s..l..ow...ly as though I have all the time I want..

Also, during Sundays, I love to sit on a comfortable chair, day dreaming and slipping a cup of hot coffee... Wow! Fantastic!! Great way to 'waste' my Sundays....

Hahahaha....

I do not get too many sunday offs cos i sometimes work on sundays but when i do I like to go to church with my mom/dad, wife and my cute little 1 year old son. Bring/read the newspapers, have a nice special lunch since all are home cooked by my mother, and later after having a nice nap in the afternoons go and visit the beach or the garden and have supper/dinner out at a restaurant before coming back home exhausted and ready for MONDAY !! grrrrr (wonder why Thursdays and Fridays never came after Monday)

Sunday is the seventh day of the week which to many is a “BREAK” after a long tiring and hectic week! Many people would take this opportunity to go shopping, picnic, watch movies etc. Hmmmmm…I don’t! Call me crazy if you want BUT I’ll try to avoid doing those on Sundays coz the malls, the theatres, the beaches will always be so jammed packed with other patrons. I’d prefer to take a day-off to enjoy these things out there.
What I definitely love to do on Sundays is just to laze around at home doing nothing…ya absolutely NOTHING. I’ll definitely make full use of this day to rejuvenate myself from that long week! RELAXED….ya that’s the PERFECT word to describe my Sundays.

P/S: Ohhhhh ya…..i noe it’s sound weird but I do sumtimes work on Sundays. I hate it…but hey that’s the only day in the week when you get extra pay while putting the least effort at work! And most importantly “NO BOSSES” to give you that “GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR” look at you when you decide to stand up and YAWN as big and loud as you wish!

Definitely the opposite of the weekdays!

The weekends are what's truly left of a highly-stressed and work-obssessed society, and should never be neglected. Learn the other side of competitiveness and pressure - relax and free your mind by being alone or with family; you've had enough contacts with humans at work.

Many people go for DIY yoga and light exercises. You can also release the toxins through interacting with family, listening to your favorite songs, dancing, and yes, sleeping. When was the last time you ever slept peacefully and soundly on a weekday? Be frank, I never had once.

I like to unwind and relax on a Sunday, just being lazy .. =P

First thing first, I would make a cup of hot coffee, then look for a CD that I am in the mood for and hit the Sunday Newspapers..
Simple but Lazy Sunday.

Evening, I will go for a jog by the East Coast Beach ... That's my typical Sunday. Works for me ... Chills me ... =)

What I would really love to do - which I haven't done much for a long time ever since my kid was born about 9 months back - is to be able to take a break from looking after my kid (leave him with mother / mother in law !) and especially looking for nursing rooms in shopping centres, and going for a leisurely lunch at a nice restaurant with my wife alone or possibly our close friends, followed by dessert and shopping (for our own instead of baby stuff for a change). The day would end nicely if, towards the evening, wife and I could go cycling at the beach (our bikes are collecting dust and rust), or if I could go for a jog at the beach by myself.

So there's really nothing fancy that I wish to do on a Sunday. But O how the simple pleasures in life are missed, now that we are parents ! =)

My favourite thing to do is to relax as much as I can after a week of work and play. This is a day which I will use to recharge my physical well-being, to be ready for another week ahead.

My chief way of relaxing is to go driving, with my windows down, music blaring loudly from my radio, and go into JB. This is where I find can find plenty of roads to roam around, maybe get lost and discover new sights or eating places too.

Driving with windows open, I can hear and smell the surrounding as I drive past. Harkens me back to the good old days when Singapore was not all steel and concrete and there were still kampongs and farms to pass through.

I have time to kill, so the heavy traffic at the Causeway is not an issue, especially since I go in frequently enough, I roughly know when to avoid the heaviest time to go in and out.

This is my usual stress-busting and energy recharging Sundays. And of course with the music to keep me company throughout my drive. Must have for me. Music sets my mood and makes it a pleasure to go driving and exploring.
