We do need to say goodbye to the gasoline-powered internal combustion engine and switch over to hydrogen fuel cells ASAP. Hurry up and invent a cheap hydro car so I can get one.
Are you asking, however, if we should just say goodbye to individual personal mobility, and the whole idea of transportation in this form? I would say offhand that this probably wouldn't be as big a deal as a lot of people might think. Especially now that we have the internet, going places isn't as important as it used to be. But still, I would think it would be a pain in the a$s.

No. They are usually going somewhere so they can make some money so they can pay their taxes and bills, to the doctors or shopping, or school or visiting relatives and friends. I don't think most of us get in the car with the intent of mindlessly driving down the road for the sake of consuming energy. We usually have some place to go, whether it's "essential" travel that's another question. We could consolidate our trips and do other things to conserve, but it's not time to give up our cars. How do you get around.

yeh we should all ride bikes instead ringading ding bop bop, there would be less comatose drivers then as the fresh air wakes you up. Also there would be more respect for the road.

yeah probably. Most of the drivers are driving either to or from the repair shop to sort all the problems with the goddamn pieces of s.h.i.t. Personal preference would be private jet, but thats not to environmentally freindly sod it I will walk ok with much disgruntlement.

I love my car. I use it to take my dad, who has MS, to see my brother and my little nephew. My dad relies on me a lot for taking him places, so no, we shouldn't get rid of the car....
