Most of the states mentioned are in the east. Most western states are actually more rural and have more farms than those in the east. If you are looking for great small family farm tours, try Washington state.

I live in NC. We have alot of farms and rual places. I can drive 20 minutes and never see a car or stop sign. The roads are paveed np. But I like to take the back roads when traveling to other cities for malls etc. But great place to live. Pem

hummm....
farms out west are huge operations, a genuine machine.. lots of land and your next neighbor is not 2 or 3 blocks away, but more like 30-45 miles away... try north dakota, central SD, western nebraska (but you're running into ranches, not as many farms)...

Kentucky......though where I live its so rural you have to drive 2 hours to get anything including alcohol, unless you want to go to a bootlegger lol
