Christianity generally follows the New Testament, plus bits of the Old Testament where appropriate.
The thing about any fundamentalist is that they take the bits and pieces of their religious teachings that support what they are trying to accomplish, and disregard anything that happens to disagree with their goals.
That's not saying that all Christians are fundamentalists. But many of those who are fundamentalists act the same way fanatics of any other religion, using quotes often taken out of context to support their ideology.
Christianity as a whole is a religion of tolerance and diversity. It's sad that so many who claim to be Christians instead focus only on those stories that promote hatred and prejudice and intolerance.

The bible does not say to sit back, and let whomever run all over you. Yes, we should all be kind, care for others, giving. That doesn't mean you have to be a door mat, and ultimately let whomever feels the need to destroy you. The law of the land says that we have the right to defend ourselves, and God's word, New Testament says that we should abide by the laws of the land. The New Testament says that if a man doesn't work, he doesn't eat. The New Testament says that if you live by the sword you die by the sword. The New Testament says that God knew us before we were conceived in our mother's womb, yet you Libs think it's alright to kill an unborn child. The new testament says that homosexual offenders will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Sorry, but you fail to look at both sides of the coin.
God's word is the same today as it was yesterday...

They follow the New Testament...sort of. Both the Old and New Testaments teach love and charity, etc. However, both have a stern side too. Bush likes the neocon philosophy because it supports Israel. Before Christ comes back (very New Testament), certain things need to be in place. One of them is that Israel be controlled by Jews.

New Testament also teaches that if a man doesn't work, he shouldn't eat. II Thessalonians 3:10
10For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."
I'm sure that the New Testament would also be equally against murder ... especially in the form of abortion.
Those sound 'conservative'.
