I hope so, because I would rather see the Tigers beat them in the playoffs than the Red Sox. If the Yankees do get in, it will have to be as the division winner. No East team is getting the wild card this year.

It's going to be a tough road. For the odds to be in their favor, obviously, they would need the wild card to fall back on, meaning that they would have to beat the Red Sox and win the division (I would guess about a 40-50% chance) OR hold off the White Sox/Tigers (whichever doesn't win the central), the Twins, AND the Blue Jays (Guessing 35-45% chance if they don't win the division). Their best chance is to win the division, so I'm going with that.

So long as they stay competitive while three major players (Matsui, Sheffield & Cano) are sidelined, they have a really good shot at it. Considering that we have been staying within 5 games of Boston during a period when the team we are fielding is a Columbus Clippers/NY Yankees hybrid, says alot about how we'll do when we have our full team back.

Our only real shot (unless the White Sox totally collapse) is the Division title, and we're very well placed to do that this year. Just hope all of our injured guys come back 100%, and that A-Rod breaks his slump.

I think they will. The Red Sox don't show any signs of falling, but the White Sox are doing terrible right now. The Yankees will probably win the Wild Card at the end of the season.

I hope not. But no one in the AL east is going to get the wild card.

I say they're going to get the Wild Card. They're going to pass the White Sox for it. The White Sox totally suck right now.

I think the pitching this year is not very good and for the bullpen that's not looking very strong. So I don't think the Yankees gonna make the play offs this time around.

I doubt it. They're pitching isn't good, they're chock full of injuries and Boston is too strong.

'86 to '06 Let's Go Mets! The team, the time.
