If you would get a different perspective on the time thing, ten years is not a gap at all. It's all a matter of how you perceive the age difference. For instance, if you would look at this from a cosmic perspective ten years is but a second compared to an aeon.
Ages or eras can also give you a different perspective on the time thing. Tens years compared to how long an ice age lasts is but one ice cube out of both polar caps.
Age difference perspectives is something that society controls, not us. I am fifty-six; if I chase a young lady of twenty, society frowns on that. But, if I chase a young lady of forty, it is okay.
So the age difference is in the eye of the beholder. The main thing is to know this "younger person" loves you for who you are. The same is true the other way around.
I wish the best of luck to you, and that your are happy no matter what you do.

I went through the same thing as you...I had always been taught the man should be older than the woman. At the age of 48 I found my soul mate, who happens to be 38. We have been married just over a year now, and things are great. Don't worry about the age difference...age is just a number, nothing to do with maturity at all. Good luck and congrats!!!

My mom is 52, and her husband of 8 yrs. is 37. They have a good relationship-one of mutual respect and understanding. This was hard for me at first because he is only 6 yrs. older than I am, but I want my mom to be happy, so I got over it. Do not worry about the age difference. If he is a nice man and you enjoy each other's company, who cares? None of us are getting any younger and being happy should be number one on your list.

I think that once you get to a certain age (45-50), age ceases to be an issue any longer. If you both share a belief system, have things in common, then go for it! God Bless You, and have a great life!

My husband is 5 years younger than me and we get along great. As long as you have a few things in common that you can discuss or do together you should have no problem. You go girl!!!

go for it. my mothers friend was 55 and her husband 20 years younger than her, and they had a happy marriage with two kids. its possible.
its funny that people find it acceptable for a woman to date an older man but not a younger man.

Just like someone said, age is nothing but numbers, its how your psychological mind and understanding and your relationship management that will decided, if you think he\she`s young, do your best to teach him/her about your own principles on why did you choose her.

The word "matched" makes a whole lot of difference and I pray that you don't take the word for anything. Get deep into you and find the truth there.
