even Febreze. The odor comes back the same day. It's been so hot lately (sweat more) that the odor is even more noticeable. Yes, I do shower twice a day in the morning and at night. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I think you may be misreading this. I really doubt it's foot odor.

One of the reasons people use rubber for things like piping and such is that it's not porous. It doesn't let things soak in, so for the chemicals and bacteria that cause foot odor to sink it would be very difficult.

It could be that some animal is using it as a place to lift a leg, in which case you need to just keep cleaning it.

But if you spray it and it comes back the same day in the heat, it may be the slide itself. The head could be causing it to bleed some of the chemicals used when it was cured. Chief among those is amonia which is a common chemical and produces an odor similar to that of sweat, urine and other harsh odors.

Try this stuff called Approach. You can get it at www.approachit.net

It's like water so it will get into the rubber as well as water can and better than a chemical compound like febreze. It's also got no harsh chemcials so it won't hurt the rubber or you. It will also be able to stop any smell produced by you, an animal or any amonia.

Good luck!

The problem is the bacteria left in the shoes or the dirt/crud etc that your feet accumulate during the day and that you leave in already crudded up shoes. If they are washable shoes..launder them...leave out in the sun to air dry. Always try to put clean feet into clean shoes . Some people have feet that perspire more than others. I found airing shoes for a few days and trying a cycle program with shoes can help. Use less products that cover up the stink those just increase the crud.

are you really attached to these slippers?

i wonder if maybe it is the chemical in the shoe interacting with your own body chemistry creating this problem and perhaps this chemical is not good for you... i would consider buying a new pair of a different making...

someone told me that the reason for all the increase in prostate cancer is due to a chemical that is in the shoes nowadays (especially those in tennis shoes developed in China--it is in the sole of the shoe)... when the foot sweats the chemicals react in the body.... the body is i think 85% absorbant....

leather is better... brazilian leather the best in purity...

Soak them in water and 20 Mule Team borax and then wash them in the washing machine. Needless to say you should not put them in the dryer.
