The weather is most definitely worse now than it used to be. I have lived in Fife, Scotland, all my life and Scotland is not known for the best of weather but I can remember when I was a child, during the school holidays in the summer there were days it was so hot the tar was melting on the roads. For the whole 6 weeks holidays we were guaranteed good weather, were at the beach or just running about the streets wearing shorts and T shirts every day. Sometimes even playing out in my bathing costume. Nowadays, we get an odd day of sun here or there but not even a whole week.

If you can put it curbside with your trash I'd do that. There is a group of guys in our area that go around and pick up scrap metal the morning of trashday.
Possibly call a junk yard and see if it is worth anything as scrap. Those 'garbage guys' make a decent chunk of money turing in scrap.
If it is salvagable why don't donate it to someone who has foster kids? They always need help with toys, and clothes. It would be appreciated I'm sure.

You can look up The Freecycle Network™
(http://w ww.Freecycle.org) for a local group. The Freecycle Network™ is made up of many individual groups across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It just has to be Free, Legal & appriate for all ages. I think lots of folks would love to be able to get a free swingset, it also helps things out of the local landfills.

Donate it to charity. Call Goodwill or The Salvation Army, they'll come pick it up and get it to another family that could use it.

I believe you can actually schedule a p/u with The Salvation Army on-line @ http://www.4satruck.org but I might have the www address wrong on that.

Put is your back ally with a sign on it saying 'free.' If somebody doesn't take it in a week, put a sign on it saying 'please don't take' and it'll be off you hands.
Look for a home day care place near your house and see if that home wants it.
You could also try to sell it in news papers. People can be suspicions of free things. I donno why.
Lots of suggestions for you here.

Give it away for free and hope someone will come and get it. Otherwise does your town have a clean up week? All else fails break it up and put it out by the curb someone may pick it up for the metal.

Why don't you try offering it to a family that can't afford one for there own kids. that would be a nice gesture.
