Buddhist practise. It completely transformed me into a 'complete' human being. A human being who creates value in our society by sharing and praying for others. I took to this practise in 1993 after a stressful divorce. My life has changed completely. All the negativities have been (upto the extent that i know of) have been done away with (thatz what i can think of). I have a beautiful and loving family of twin daughters abt 8.5 yrs and a loving and caring wife --the support of which cannot be expressed in a few words.
This is also called the 'Assiduous Practice' and is based on a particular stream of Mahayana Buddhism (there are two streams - Mahayana and Hinyana Buddhism). Its a philosophy dealing with cleansing our environment both outwardly and inwardly through our practice with a goal of World Peace (Kosen Rufu). It is also called the Lotus Sutra (the pure practice). You can visit the following link http://www.sgi-usa.org/
and be enlightened. It is the official site of the SGI-USA (Soka Gakkai International in the US). Soka Gakkai in Japanese means 'Value Creation'. It is practised in more than 183 countries of the World. Good Luck and please note it is NOT A RELIGION. It is a Buddhist Philosophy striving towards creating a better World. One does not change one's religion by becoming a member of this organisation.

Kai-zen, Japanese philosophies
Muhasabah, Islamic Philosophies
Confess, Christian philosophies.

I think those are the practice that help me to be a better man, I am not saying I am great, but I think I am improving, bit by bit at least, all of those practice come with the same principle,

1)acknowledge your act
2) study the consequences, before and after 'the act' dual balance.
3) Improve, not to repeat the same mistake ever again.

It is a bit tiring, but honestly, it is worth wile doing,

Being a father. I'm less angry with the world. I have some one who loves me unconditionally. I can discipline her and she still loves me. New Philosophy? No new philosophy, just a new variable. Live every day like its your last and everything in that life will seem brighter. Don't wait for happiness that may come tomorrow, recognize and enjoy the happiness you find today.

I act on my words, I do as I say I will. I try not to be offended by others or circumstance. It allows me to live without hatred. Love everyone, they're people too; just as fallible as myself; forgive and move on; they'll catch up! See what a person could become and help them take that next step by smiling or encouraging them; know you can't fix something that isn't yours to meddle with. It's made me a better man, I feel the compassion. Nice question, thank you for asking it.

Good Q! Getting older has helped me a lot. Thinking back when I was in my teens and twenties, I thought I knew it all. Looking back I was pretty ignorant most of the time.

It has also helped me to give up organized religion. I did that in my early twenties. It freed my mind and opened me to a brand new view of world history, cultures, religions and spiritual awareness.

The other big thing that I did that changed my life, was to get married to a rock solid woman. She has been my foundation of love and security and allowed me to grow and develop as a man.

I believe my experience of being an alcoholic and drug addict in my younger days has made me realize how stupid I was and with my knowledge of my past I am trying to help others. I believe this has made me a better man. I was full of hate and anger at one time and didn't care to live. Today I love life and people.

Believe it or not...Scientology made my life and existence better! Not only helped me to get rid of my past anxieties and made me a more spititual being, but now I know I won't get worse anymore and I can face the future through full knowledge of myself and of the existence. In brief, I now know that I know!
