Good Question! I always wonder how we're supposed to know if it's one, two or three.

In the US, it's usually one (but right or left cheek? does it matter?)

Some other countries do 2 and others 3

And asian cultures typically don't kiss, they bow, so that's 0!

i greet with a kiss to relatives and very close friends only and i do it one kiss in each cheek (2 kisses in all) - philippines

I usually do two... one on each side. (I'm from the US) However, when I have been in France the norm was usually three.
