Yes - go to your Preferences then click Archive, and you can elect to save all messages on your computer. You can do the same for voice messages
Note - If you access messenger on more than one computer, a different chat log will be created.

for yahoo u have save the conversation option right on the messanger
else copy the stuff and save it
also in yahoo msgr you can opt for saving all your chat messages always.

I've copied it and pasted it into a word document... and then saved that.
