the way to peace is much easier than any military action but yet Israel seems to resort to violence with the palestinians and with the lebanese under any pretext that it finds , attacking and counter attacking doesnt pave the way to peace but to more violence ,

You seem not to take cognizance of the fact that Israel has always been attacked first, although admittedly there was some contrivance with respect to 1973.

Perhaps you are confusing Israel with Britain (Tony Blair) and America (George W. Bush).

As for Israel, there was a fleeting chance for peace but the corrupt and egomaniacal Nobel prizewinning PLO leader-for-life Yasser Arafat scotched that. Hatreds are now so entrenched that peace may be impossible. With Islamist (Shia and Sunni, respectively) administrations in Iran and elsewhere that depend on fanning hatred for their maintenance of power, and with Iran (and Syria) bent on using Hezbollah as proxy, where is peace to be found?

We all, it seems, are born with a residual disgust for Jews. Even many Jews. But then we all need a scapegoat. How easily we fall into the trap of believing that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion holds truth.

The person who (above) blames Israelis' (or Jews') belief in a status as "chosen people" simply has no understanding of comparative theology. It is George Bush's End of Time Protestants who harp on that. Most Jews interpret the "chosen" part as a responsibility to believe and to pray; none claim any grand status or right of power from it. Read: Kevin Phillips, "The American Theocracy".

Ignorance makes answering Yahoo questions easy, I guess. But it doesn't give such answers any value.

Israel ought to probable live on. lots of the U. S. help is for protecting motives, and easily is often pumped decrease back into the U. S. economic device by procuring American. So, slicing it out must be felt regionally contained in the protection marketplace. Regardless, Israel has survived beforehand this replaced into ever made an selection to them, and are educated to finish that if it includes that. The Israelis take no longer something with none interest, and function a heritage surviving on a lot less. concerning to the Germans, it is help purely given to Holocaust survivors. So, it is not any longer truly going into Israel like that. Israel has plenty going for it. It does no longer count number on different international locations to save it is economic device afloat, and the military funds does no longer count number on global help.

What the hell are you talking about? Disturbing the region? Unbelievable. If this was ww2 this would be like you saying "Why is the UK even there, they are just disturbing the nazis!!!!"

"It is the whole attitude that it is above the law... stems from their attitude that they are god's chosen people.

They have kept the Palestinians jailed in Gaza for years without resources and want them to not react!!"

Liar and propaganda came to mind while reading your drivel you call a post. God's chosen people? Are you jealous that they *gasp* think they are chosen? The chrisitains believe they are chosen. THe islamics believe are chosen. But god forbid the jews believe it!!! Go back to the anti-semetic cave you came

Palestinians? Jailing? More lies upon lies. THe palestinians were offered land years ago and they flat-out rejected it. This made it clear that the palestinians wanted to wipe jews out and not have the land.

what is the way to peace if i may ask u?
I think that Israel is 100% justified in invading the south of Lebanon. It's high time that Lebanon pays for its refuse to disarm Hezbollah, an armed militia in competition with the official army and which belongs to a political party with a sectarian origin and an extreme political vision. Hezbollah is Lebanon's responsibility, so if they don't want to pay consequences for HB's actions, prime minister Fuad Siniora has to start acting as a leader and disarm them.
Hezbollah is heavily backed by Iran. The same Iran whose President has repeatedly stated his desire to "wipe Israel off the map". Once again, we see that Israel's arab neighbours have no concern for the plight of Palestinians, they simply want to destroy Israel. Which seems strange, given that Israel is a tiny country, with no natural resources, and the arab states are massive and swimming in oil. Still, it's easier for them to attack democracy and pluralism, rather than sort their own problems

Because thats the only thing the *** Clowns like the Palistinians, Hezbolla, and Hammas seem to understand. I have a question for you. Why do you expect Isreal to simply sit back and do nothing every time Hezbolla attacks there soliders or Hammas Blows up a Bus load of civilians on there way to work. Or the Palistinians Who by the way ELECTED a TERRIOST group as there government decide to launch a few missles into Civilians areas of Isreal. It appears the only violence you have a problem with is when Isreal attempts to defend itself.

Why don't the counties in that region accept Israel as a county that is there to stay. Just leave them alone, and there would be peace. They should have never turned over there land and expected peace. Look at the native Americans they tried it, and lost almost there whole culture, and all there land.

yes peace is always better, but then terrorism is not the answer either,

It seems that Israel has been attempting peace. Land concessions, freeing political prisoner, moving the jewish settlements etc. but still the terrorist attacks, and kidnappings continued.

Maybe if the terrorism stops the entire world will be a better place.

Hezbollah is sworn to destroy Israel, and shows they are sincere at every opportunity.

Passive non-violence doesn't work when your enemy is lobbing rockets over the border, and the country they are firing from doesn't/cannot stop it.

Hezbollah initiated this round in the conflict, and yet you fault Israel. What's that all about?

There just defending their country from people who want to take it over, Here's a simpler analagy-- The mayor gives you a house in the city, the guy who had the house 20 years ago comes everyday throwing rocks saying they want it back, are you gonna sit there and ignore it... I'm all for peaceful settlements but their actual country is in danger.
